For your convenience and to assist in your selection process we offer two different groups of services. These packages do not include other cash advance items.

Select Packages:

Limited Service Package

$2,600

This package includes:

Basic services of our funeral director and staff
Transfer of deceased to the visitation location within 35 mile radius
Embalming*
Other preparations of the deceased including cosmetics, dressing and casketing
Hairdressing (female)

One hour visitation prior to services at a location of your choice (funeral home, chapel, cemetery, fraternal order, park, etc.). This will be scheduled according to staff and facility availability, and required permits.
General vehicle use
Hearse
Transfer of deceased to cemetery or crematory without procession within a 35 mile radius

The Funeral Director will also:

Secure the doctor's signature on the original death certificate.
File it with the local registrar as required by law.
Obtain certified copies of the death certificate (additional cost).

The family will need on for each legal transaction involving the deceased's name.
Prepare death notices for the local and out of state newspapers. (The newspaper will bill the family directly.)
Notify the Social Security Administration. (The toll-free number will be provided to the family.)
Assist with the veteran's benefits if applicable.

* Except in certain special cases, embalming is not required by law. However, embalming may be necessary if you select certain funeral arrangements such as a funeral with viewing. If you do not want embalming you usually have the right to choose an arrangement that does not require you to pay for it, such as a direct cremation or immediate burial.

Direct Cremation Package

This package includes:

Local removal of the deceased
Care of the deceased
Transportation to the crematory
Basic services of staff
Authorizations
General vehicle use

Crematory charges
Alternative container
Recording of vital statistics
Securing permits
Filing and obtaining death certificate
Notifying Social Security Administration

If you want to arrange a direct cremation, you can use an alternative container. Alternative containers encase the body and can be made of materials like fiberboard or composition materials (with or without an outside covering). The container choices included in this package are either cardboard or corrugated containers with a wood base.

The Elderlight Casket is corrugated cardboard with Cotton Cloth Covering and an Ivory Satin Interior.

It is important to understand that embalming is not included in this package charge. If you select embalming or if it is required by law, an additional charge of $545 will be added. Michigan Law requires that a deceased person's body must be embalmed if it doesn't reach its final destination (cemetery, crematory, medical school, etc.) within 48 hours. If a delay is caused by other than Guardian Memorial Society, Inc. (i.e., medical examiner, doctor, hospital, family etc.) embalming is deemed selected and thus charged for. Ref. MI Public Health Rules R325.1142 Rule 1 and Rule 2.

Traditional Service Package

This package includes:

Basic services of the selected funeral establishment’s funeral director and staff
Local transfer of deceased to selected funeral home (within35 miles)
